Where: The George Finnie Stadium, BereaWhen: 6:30 p.m.Records: Season opener for both teamsScouting report: Matt Martig, a senior OLB from West Branch and a three-year letterman, is one of the top returning veterans for B-W. Last season, he had 30 tackles. Paul Lepro, a senior DE from Warren JFK, looking for more playing time. He had four tackles last year in a limited role. Also returning is junior Paul Birch (DB, Springfield), who had one interception, and senior Matt Davis (DT, Mineral Ridge), who had four tackles. Other area players on the B-W roster are senior Michael Finamore (DB, Boardman); junior Rob Palma (P, Boardman), sophomore Lyle Hayes (DL, Brookfield), and freshmen J.P. Barco (TE, Southington); Tony Darkadakis (OLB, South Range) and Charles Koch (DL, Brookfield). Two area players return for Allegheny -- sophomore PK Jason Black (Champion) and junior RB Patsy Malie (Mooney). Black was 25-for-28 in extra-point kicks and 1-for-5 in FGs. Malie rushed for 51 yards in eight carries. Also on the Gators' roster is freshman QB Bobby Burkes (Union).
FRANKLIN & amp; MARSHALL vs. BETHANY
Where: Rine Field, Bethany, W. Va.When: 1 p.m.Records: Season opener for both teamsScouting report: One of Bethany's offensive leaders is T.J. Parker, a junior WR from Austintown Fitch who last year had 39 catches for 533 yards and two TDs. Also back is defensive standout Mike Gerba, junior safety from Warren JFK. Gerba had 54 tackles (33 unassisted) last year.
GROVE CITY vs. MANCHESTER (IND.)
Where: Carl W. Burt Stadium, Manchester, Ind.When: 2:30 p.m.Records: Season opener for both teamsScouting report: Ross Trimmer, a senior free safety from Hickory, is Grove City's top defensive holdover and a preseason Division III All-American. Trimmer led the team in all-purpose yards last year with 672 yards and he also had 535 yards on 27 kickoff returns and one TD. In addition, Trimmer had four interceptions to share the team lead, and 54 tackles (34 solo stops). Adam Wargo, a senior HB from Champion, is another top returnee with 265 yards on 67 carries last year. Wargo also had 12 receptions for 83 yards and had 348 all-purpose yards. Also on the Wolverines' roster are Steve Weary, senior DE from Reynolds; Justin Fowler, sophomore DE from Newton Falls, and freshmen Dom Cutrone (OLB, Ursuline) and Stephen Mercer (QB, Beaver Local). Weary had 34 tackles last year.
HIRAM vs. CARNEGIE MELLON
Where: Gesling Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pa.When: 1 p.m.Records: Season opener for both teamsScouting report: Hiram returns a veteran crew of 21 returning starters this year, including three area players. The returning area starters are senior DL Paul Pancoe (Mooney), sophomore RB Michael Paes (Springfield) and junior WR Justin Exline (Reynolds).
WASHINGTON (MO.) vs. MOUNT UNION
Where: Mount Union Stadium, AllianceWhen: 1 p.m.Records: Season opener for both teamsScouting report: Two of Mount Union's top holdovers are Ross Watson (Fitch), a senior DB who make the All-OAC second team last year, and Tom Manning (Ursuline), a senior OT and an All-OAC first-team pick in 2004. Watson was involved in 37 tackles, broke up 11 passes and had four interceptions. Other area players on the MUC roster are seniors Tim Reash (OL, Columbiana) and Randy Mason (QB, Girard); sophomores Chris Ault (QB, Mineral Ridge), Matt Gillespie (RB, Newton Falls) and Tim Frey (OL, Newton Falls); and freshmen Andrew Johnson (DE, United), Drew Newhart (DT, West Branch) and Matthew Barge (RB, Neshannock).
WALSH vs. WEST LIBERTY STATE

OHIO NORTHERN vs. WESTMINSTER
Where: Harold Burry Stadium, New Wilmington, Pa.When: 1:30 p.m.Records: Season opener for both teamsScouting report: The Westminster defense will be led by senior LB Jerry Bonenberger, who missed last season because of an injury after leading the team in tackles in 2003 with 102. Westminster has 25 area players on the roster, including seven returning lettermen: punters Dusty Rhodes (Niles) and Kyle Trimble (Western Reserve), defensive linemen Matt Hanhold (Mooney) and Chris Dulovich (Poland), tight end Josh Bero (Poland), wide receiver Jake Buzard (West Middlesex) and defensive back Jerad Smith (Neshannock).
