Musician releasesfirst solo album
SALEM -- Longtime area musician Kirk Poffenberger has released his first solo album of original rock and blues.
He wrote all 10 songs on the album, titled "Indigo Livid," and plays all the instruments and sings all the vocals, with the exception of one song in which the album's co-producer, Glen Huston, plays guitar.
Poffenberger, a graduate of United Local High School and Youngstown State University, also plays drums in the classic rock band Mile Stone and bass guitar for the rock band Underdawg. Huston is the lead guitarist in Mile Stone.
"The CD is a collection of styles that have influenced me over the years," said Poffenberger. "It's very eclectic."
Poffenberger, a graphic designer who owns Design Studio in Salem, designed the cover and liner for his album.
The CD is available at his Web site, www.OrigitalArt.com, and various locations in Salem including B.B. Rooners, Friends Roastery, Promos Unlimited, Mountz Gallery and Texas 10-Minute Oil Change. It will soon be available at www.cdbaby.com.
