4 teens die in wreck of stolen car
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- Four teenage boys died early Sunday in a stolen car that went off the left side of a rural road and struck two trees, authorities said. Dustin D. Van Hoose, 15, of Dayton and Ian M. Bailey, 14, Joey Bruce, 15, Joshua E. Fleming, 14, all of Huber Heights, died at the scene, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. All the victims were found inside the vehicle, the patrol said. The car had been stolen from a street in Huber Heights, according to police in that Dayton suburb. The cause of the accident wasn't immediately available. It happened between 2 and 4:30 a.m., just southwest of Springfield, the patrol said. The Clark County coroner did not return a message seeking comment. A deputy sheriff found the car just before 5 a.m. The deputy was sent on patrol about 4:30 a.m. after a resident called to report a man coming to the back door and asking to come inside to call for a ride, sheriff's dispatcher Jeff Fife said. The man told the resident he had been dropped off and didn't know where he was but then left the home and wasn't seen again, Fife said. Springfield is 43 miles west of Columbus.
