Poultry farm checking sites in western Ohio

COLUMBUS (AP) -- A large-scale Iowa poultry operation announced Thursday it is conducting tests on several sites in western Ohio for a large egg farm.
The statement by Steve George, chief operating officer of Fremont Farms of Malcolm, Iowa, said no decision has been made on where to locate.
However, Tim Miller, of the Columbus public-relations firm Cochran Group, said the company does have an option to purchase property and Logan County is under consideration.
Logan County residents have heard rumors about the egg farm plans and some have organized in opposition to it.
