MAC Quakers quash Red Devils in 42-7 contest



Howland's Lance Smith scored three times in his team's loss to Warren JFK.
CAMPBELL -- J.J. Johnson rushed for 196 yards on 18 carries, which included touchdown runs of 60 and 1 yard as Salem High defeated Campbell Memorial 42-7 Friday at Knapick Field.
The Quakers (7-3) scored all of their points before Jeremy Lawrence scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Red Devils.
Jarin Heath of the Quakers also scored two TDs as he tallied on a 1-yard run and returned an interception 40 yards for the other.
Salem rushed for 215 yards on 27 carries, and quarterback Tom Jesko connected on 8-of-9 passes for 86 yards, including TD strikes of 3 yards to Bo Endicot and 24 yards to Tyler Pierce.
Bryan Wright of Salem attempted a 62-yard field goal in the third quarter then went wide right.
Lonnie McQueen gained 65 yards on 15 carries for the Red Devils (2-8). Campbell finished with 154 yards on 40 attempts.
Niles 35, Struthers 15
NILES -- Five players scored touchdowns for the Red Dragons (6-4, 3-2 Metro Athletic Conference).
Walk Krezeczowski gained 127 yards on eight carries, and Nate Ganyard ran 22 times for 112 yards for Niles.
For Struthers (1-9, 0-5), Justin Penson ran 18 times for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Warren JFK 35,Howland 21
HOWLAND -- Anthony Elzy rushed for touchdowns covering 77 and 10 yards for the Eagles (9-1).
Howland's Lance Smith topped Elzy's scoring output with touchdown runs of 56, 67 and 9 yards.
Smith's third TD run tied the score at 21-all for the Tigers (4-6).
JFK was third in the Div. V computer this week and likely will play its first playoff game at home.
JFK also got two touchdowns from Mike Pissini, covering 1 and 2 yards.
