Geneva 42, Taylor 0
UPLAND, Ind. -- Geneva's defense limited Taylor to 131 total yards. The Golden Tornadoes (6-3, 3-2 Mid-States) forced four turnovers and had the ball nearly 20 more minutes than Taylor, who fell to 0-8 overall and 0-5 in conference play. Geneva quarterback Justin Sciarro completed 19-of-28 passes and threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns.
Slippery Rock 58, Shippensburg 28
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Running back Josh Kniees ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns and added an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown as Slippery Rock beat Shippensburg in a PSAC West game. Slippery Rock (4-5, 3-2) opened the scoring just 1:33 into the game on Kniess' 13-yard run and never trailed. Shippensburg (4-6, 2-4) got 109 yards rushing from David Richards and two scoring passes from quarterback Rick Henshaw, both to David Green, but it wasn't enough. The Rock scored on successive interception returns of 40 yards from Akeem Etheridge and 48 yards from Matt Fontana in a 27-point second quarter. Quarterback Nate Crookshank also passed for two touchdowns and ran for another for Slippery Rock.
Frostburg St. 16, Westminster 13
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Mike Gray blocked a punt with 33 seconds remaining in the game to set up Mark Sedlock's game-winning 41-yard field goal. Frostburg (5-3) never led before Sedlock's final field goal, though they twice tied the game after Westminster (3-5) took a 6-0 first quarter lead on Chris Castillo field goals of 31 and 39 yards. Sedlock answered with a pair of 32-yard field goals, on each in the second and third quarters, to set up the dramatic final frame. Westminster took a 13-6 lead on J.R. Barley's 11-yard pass to Jordan Belosh on the first play of the fourth quarter, but Frostburg tied the game with 5:22 left on Jimmy Ward's 43-yard pass to T.J. Changuris.
Alfred 27, Grove City 7
ALFRED, N.Y. -- Paul Keeley threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns to lead Alfred over Grove City. Keeley's 59-yard TD pass to Julio Fuentes opened the scoring in the second quarter. Mike Darling followed with an 11-yard catch for a touchdown. But Ken Roudybush's 2-yard TD run for Grove City (3-6) with two minutes left made it 13-7 at halftime. In the second half, Alfred's Brenton Brady scored a rushing touchdown and Keeley completed a 14-yard TD pass to Craig Zarzycki. Keeley finished 24-of-38 with two interceptions. Chris Reger led the Saxons (7-1) with 100 receiving yards. The Wolverines were limited to 165 yards of offense.
Chicago 42, Bethany 3
BETHANY, W.Va. -- Quarterback Matt Rinklin threw for four touchdowns, including three to Micah Dawson, to lead Chicago. Ranklin finished the day with 233 passing yards, while Dawson's three grabs went for 98 yards. Chuck Little led Chicago (3-4) with 68 yards rushing and two scores. Bethany (1-8) linebacker Tim Goetz had 14 tackles, giving him 100 for the season. He is the first Bethany player to reach triple digits since Bill Stewart had 101 in 1999. Bethany was held to 111 total yards.
Wabash 27, Allegheny 21
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Quarterback Russ Harbaugh threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns to lead Wabash over Allegheny. Harbaugh completed 30 of 39 passes and threw just one interception, as Wabash (8-0, 6-0) -- ranked 19th in NCAA Division III -- led 13-0 at halftime and withstood a two-touchdown fourth quarter by Allegheny (1-7, 1-4). Harbaugh tossed a 36-yard scoring pass to Eric Summers in the first quarter and hit Mike Russell with a 4-yard scoring pass in the second to give Wabash an early lead. He also connected with Ray Green from 24 yards out in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Allegheny quarterback Jimmy Savage threw for 189 yards and two scores.
Wooster 59, Hiram 17
WOOSTER -- Bobby Reiff passed for 423 yards and four touchdowns and Wooster's defense also provided two scores against Hiram. Reiff completed 17-of-33 passes for 423 yards with two interceptions. Aaron Gertz returned a blocked punt 11 yards for a score for the Fighting Scots (6-2, 3-2 North Coast Conference), and Andrew O'Connell brought back an interception 49 yards for a score. Hiram (1-7, 1-4) scored on the second play from scrimmage when Trevor Henderson hit Max Kravitz on an 83-yard scoring pass. Gary Sheplavy then added a 32-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead -- before the Fighting Scots scored the next 52 points.
