Judge postpones verdict in sex case

WARREN -- The fate of a Warren man charged with having sex with a female resident of a community-based corrections facility won't be known until after Nov. 11.
Judge John Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court gave Chuck Morrow, an assistant county prosecutor, and defense lawyer Thomas Zena until that date to file briefs in the sexual battery trial of Damon Vaughn, 36. The case was tried directly to the judge.
Vaughn is accused of having sexual intercourse with the resident on two occasions in April or May 2004.
She was a resident of the Northeast Ohio Community Alternative Program, where he was a residential supervisor. Vaughn denied the charge, saying he didn't have any out-of-the-ordinary interaction with the Willoughby woman.
