YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown State Football Alumni Club selected junior tailback Marcus Mason as the player who "Made the Difference" in the outcome of Saturday's 31-7 homecoming victory over Missouri State.
Mason will receive a plaque with his name engraved on it and will also added to the Honor Roll in the Mosure Hall of Gridiron Glory in Stambaugh Stadium. He will be presented the award by members of the Football Alumni Club at the team's annual awards banquet following the season.

BATAVIA -- Sophomore Brittany Jones carded the lowest round of the day and second lowest of the tournament for a sixth-place finish at the Cincinnati Fall Classic which concluded Tuesday at Elks Run Golf Club.
Jones had a 74, tying Toledo's Kim Kester for the low round Tuesday. Following an 81 on Monday, Jones finished tied had a two-round total of 155. Cincinnati's Hillery Wilson won the event with a 151.
As a team, the Penguins placed fifth with a 36-hole score of 666. Toledo won the event with 615, while Bradley was second (630) and Cincinnati was third (639).
Other finishers for Youngstown State were sophomore Adrianna DiLonardo who was 28th with a 172 (89-83); junior Bonnie Sherman, also 28th with a 172 (86-86); sophomore Kristen Albrecht, 33rd with a 176 (87-89), and Felicia Ciotola, who was 35th with a 177 (97-80).

SOUTHINGTON -- Connie Farmer Silvernail (1982 basketball), Kelly Nelson Skaggs (1984 softball) and Robert Baugher Jr. (1985 football-basketball-baseball) and the 1977-78 boys basketball team will be inducted into the Chalker Athletic Hall of Fame Dec. 3.
A banquet, honoring the inductees, will be held at the Southington High School gymnasium at 5 p.m.

*LINZ, Austria -- Eighth-seeded Ana Ivanovic advanced to the second round of the Generali Ladies Open with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory Tuesday over Shinobu Asagoe.
Gisela Dulko of Argentina beat Lisa Raymond of the United States 6-7 (2), 7-6 (6), 6-2, rallying after facing two match points. Raymond served for the first set at 5-3, but Dulko broke back to force the tiebreaker.
*LYON, France -- Top-seeded Andy Roddick beat wild card Thierry Ascione of France 7-5, 6-3 on Tuesday in the first round of the Lyon Grand Prix.
