MERCER, Pa. -- A Greenville man died in his car after pulling off an Interstate 79 exit ramp for an apparent nap.
Pennsylvania State Police said Jeremy Michael Brest, 25, died of smoke inhalation after a fire started in the engine of his 1995 Dodge Neon. He apparently left the engine running and fell asleep. Police said he was found at 3:15 a.m. Sunday off Exit 113 in Springfield Township.
Youngstown parents invited to LEARNS event
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown City School District invites all parents to a LEARNS program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mahoning United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 2214 Mahoning Ave.
LEARNS stands for Love Everything About Reading, Numbers, Social Studies and Science.
The program, which includes a free lunch, will provide parents with a bag of items to help their children with reading, math, science and social studies. There is no fee. To reserve a spot, call the district's Instruction Department, (330) 744-6984 today.
