XOAKMONT, Pa. -- The Oaks Cinema was the setting for the Oct. 22 wedding of Leigh Anne Vrabel and Shawn A. Israel.
The Rev. Bruce Stollings officiated at the 5:30 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of William S. and Sandra J. Vrabel of 721 Penhale Ave., Campbell, and the son of Max L. and Dolores M. Israel of 462 Canal St., Leechburg, Pa.
A reception followed at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, where the bride is a librarian. After a honeymoon to Las Vegas, the newlyweds will be living in Squirrel Hill, Pa.
The bride wore a floor-length candlelight dress fashioned with an empire waist and beaded spaghetti straps and accented with an amethyst beaded-flower pattern.
The honor attendant was Heidi Patterson-Orlando of Pittsburgh. Bridesmaids were Sandi Carroll of Madison, sister of the bride; Colleen Clinton, Harrisburg, Pa.; Cynthia Malone, South Bound Brook, N.J.; and Carlisle Webber, Bloomfield, N.J. Emily Carroll of Madison, the bride's niece, was the flower girl. They wore eggplant-colored dresses.
The groom's father served as his best man. Groomsmen were Fox Carney of Los Angeles; Alan Carroll of Madison, brother-in-law of the bride; Leonard Hayhurst, Zanesville; and Doug Ray, Tarentum, Pa.
The bride earned her bachelor's degree in English at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa., and a master's degree in English at Youngstown State University and in library science at the University of Pittsburgh.
Her husband, who graduated with a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University, is a radio announcer with Steel City Media in Pittsburgh.
