Timkos marking 50th anniversary with Mass, party



XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Timko of 1915 Comanche Trail celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 22 with a Mass at St. Christine Church.
They were married Oct. 22, 1955, in St. Brendan Church.
A family gathering is planned for a later date at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Tim and Laura Timko in Powell.
Also hosting the family event will be their sons and daughter-in-law, Len Timko of Dayton and Ken and Tina Timko of Cincinnati. The couple have five grandchildren.
Mr. Timko was self-employed as the owner and operator of a pharmacy in Warren until his retirement in 1996. He graduated from the Ohio Northern University School of Pharmacy in 1955.
The former Mary Ann Kovacs was employed by General Fire Proofing Co. and Peg Kish Dress shop and worked as a pharmacy technician at her husband's pharmacy in Warren. She also retired in 1996.
They are members of St. Christine Catholic Church and the Infant of Prague Guild at the church. Mrs. Timko also plays in the Rocky Ridge Ladies Golf League.
Mr. Timko served as a U.S. Navy hospital corpsman.
