KRISTEN SHAFFERADAM PICCIRILLO
XNEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Wallace Memorial Chapel at Westminster College provided the setting at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 24 for the marriage of Kristen Leigh Shaffer, daughter of George and Barbara Shaffer, and Adam Piccirillo, son of Carmen and Lynell Piccirillo, all of New Wilmington.
The Rev. Nancy Mussehl officiated, and a reception was held at The Corinthian in Sharon, Pa.
The bride wore a halter gown of peau de soie trimmed with Battenberg lace and pearls, and she held a bouquet of fall flowers.
Her honor attendant, Kelly Bower, and the bridesmaids, Joanna Wilson, Kimberlee Hermann, Joani Bower and Dawn Painter, wore burnt-orange gowns. A burnt-orange and white gown was worn by the flower girl, Mackenzie Palmer. The couple's mothers served as ring bearers.
The groom's father performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were John Zehner, John McGrane, Jeff Dougherty and Aaron Schwartz.
The bride works in the administration office of the Borough of New Wilmington and is also a free-lance photojournalist. She earned an associate degree in photojournalism at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's in communication at Slippery Rock University. The groom is a police officer for the city of Sharon. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in general business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and earned his Act 120 certification in law enforcement at Mercyhurst College Municipal Police Training Academy in Erie, Pa.
The couple have returned from a wedding trip to St. Lucia and are living in Sharon.
