TLCC day care, preschool will celebrate 25 years



YOUNGSTOWN -- In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, the TLCC (Tender Loving Christian Care) day care and preschool is marking its 25th year. It is a mission of the church and housed there.
The state-licensed center, a nonprofit organization, provides opportunities for children to develop socially, physically and intellectually.
Norma Johnson is director of a professional staff of 15 for children from 6 weeks to 10 years old.
The center, which offers full-day child care with a preschool curriculum and afterschool program, is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
Hot meals are provided. A security system is in place.
The curriculum includes beginning reading and language skills with a library program, gross motor skills and coordination, creative art, music, physical education, computer instruction with educational programs, Christian education, dramatic play and science/health and math corners.
There also are field trips, holiday parties, luncheons for parents, preschool graduation and a Christmas pageant.
