MLK III will speak at group luncheon

LIBERTY -- Martin Luther King III will be the keynote speaker at the Regional Chamber's From Steel To Scholars luncheon at noon Friday at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.
The chamber will honor six school districts that received "excellent" ratings on state achievement testing results for the 2004-05 school year, as well as the most improved district.
King is the second oldest of four children born to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from Morehouse College. He has spent most of his adult life as a motivational speaker and is president and chief executive of the King Center in Atlanta.
The From Steel To Scholars initiative is designed to promote excellence, accountability and improvement in school district achievement test scores in the Mahoning Valley.
