FLOWER SHOW Garden forum event celebrates 75th year

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area, which is marking its 75th anniversary this year, will hold its Holiday Flower Show Nov. 9 at the Davis Education and Visitors Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks.
Entries will be accepted from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and judging will be held from 11 to noon. followed by lunch, a program and a general meeting.
The theme of the show is "Celebrating 75 Years." Schedules and rules are available in the kiosk at the center.
The public is invited, and guests will also have the opportunity to visit the Melnick Museum at the gardens, where the history of the Garden Forum is on display.
The luncheon buffet will be available from noon to 1 p.m. Cost is $15 for members and $18 for guests. Reservations are due Oct. 31 by calling (330) 740-7116 Ext. 210.
Guest speaker for the 1 p.m. program will be Brian Wenmoth, a designer and project specialist for the Smithers-Oasis Co. He will demonstrate the latest trends fall and winter floral ideas.
The general meeting at 2 p.m. will precede a silent auction.
