Barta wins Youngstown Masters
Adam Barta recently won the 2005 Youngstown Masters and a paid entry into the United States Bowling Congress' National Masters Tournament to be held in Milwaukee, Wis. on Nov. 15-20.
Along with first-place prize money, Barta will receive a plaque at the Youngstown Bowling Association's Hall of Fame dinner in June, 2006.
The National Masters is part of the Professional Bowlers Tournament and will air on ESPN on Nov. 20.
Other top 10 finishers in the Youngstown Masters were: Marty Letscher, Dan Guerrieri, Rich Thompson Jr., Joe Nuzzo, Rob Vukovich, Stever Harper Jr., Sam Carissimi, Mark Guthridge and Shawn Streeter.
Letscher and Thompson rolled 300 games during the competition and Guthridge had high set of 812.
A 15-game qualifier preceded the final round.
The Youngstown Masters was held at Bell-Wick Bowl and Boardman, Amron and Kay lanes.
Moses has 842
Daryl Moses' 299-842 led Charlie's Service/R.J. Trucking at Holiday, Joe Nuzzo's 804 led Shooting Gallery at Holiday and Vince Russo's 300 game on Oct. 8 came a week after an 800 series in Parker at Holiday.
Jim Stockman and Bob Eisenbraun Jr. were a pin apart in their high games of 299 and 298, respectively, in Holiday's Variety Mixed on Oct. 8.
Donna Hess' 268-712 paced Howgren Heating & amp; Cooling bowlers at Holiday on Oct. 7 and Pat Rohrbaugh had 267-712 in Lucky Strikes at Amron on Oct. 13.
Chuckie Zarbaugh III's 269-707 led the 13-18 year-olds in Bell-Wick's Junior Optimist on Oct. 1.
Bill Steiner converted the 7-10 split in Kernan Insurance Classic at West Side on Oct. 10.
First-quarter winners in Lucianno's Restaurant Mixed at Wedgewood were: (American Division) -- Unknowns of Peggy Allan, Sharon Johnson, Jack Allan, Chuck Johnson and (National Division) -- Deederbugzs of Rita Evans, Cathy Hoover, Ron Harapcio and Dave Hoover.
Senior Team champs
Joe Wilkos, Ron Jones Sr., Judy Jones and Jim Ellis were members of the Tri-Serv. Comm. #2 team that rolled 2,366 to win the Youngstown Senior Team Bowling Tournament at Bowladrome Lanes.
Ron Jones Sr. and Judy Jones were also on the runner-up Tri-Serv. Comm. #1 team, along with Bob Timmons and Rodg King. Their score was 2,353.
Ron Jones Sr., Al Wilkes, Joe Wilkos and Ellis composed the Mixers who were third with 2,272, while Pasternack Cab of Carl and Carol Pasternack, King and Jones Sr. placed fourth with 2,260.
The winning team's awards will be presented at the Youngstown Bowling Association's banquet next June.
The next Seniors tournament will be the Senior Mixed Doubles on Dec. 3-4.

YWBA Masters
Entries for the third annual Youngstown Women's Bowling Association Masters Tournament are available at all area bowling centers.
The first round will be Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at Amron. The top eight bowlers will advance to the second round on Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. at Boardman Lanes.
Entry fee of $40 should be made payable to the YWBA and mailed before Nov. 5 to 2703 Mahoning Ave., Suite 101, Youngstown, Ohio. 44509.
