Allegheny 38, Hiram 6
HIRAM -- James Jones threw three touchdown passes and Mario Tarquinio ran for 101 yards and a score to lead Allegheny. Jones completed 7-of-11 passes for 97 yards. He found Devin Fackenthal on a 5-yard scoring pass and Logan Kaleta on a 7-yard TD pass as Allegheny (1-6, 1-3 North Coast Conference) jumped out to a 35-6 lead at halftime. Kyle Geiser also had two touchdown receptions in the first half for the Gators, who finished with 375 yards of offense. Allegheny held Hiram (1-6, 1-3) to just 20 yards rushing. Quarterback Trevor Henderson completed 17-of-40 passes for 152 yards and one touchdown, finding Jason Exline on a 34-yard scoring pass in the second.
Geneva 21, Walsh 20, OT
CANTON -- Matt Brown threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Bam Harmon in overtime. Brandon Nathan had 36 carries for 160 yards and a touchdown for Geneva (5-3, 2-2 Mid-States Mideast League). Brown, who finished 7-of-11 for 76 yards, threw a 14-yard scoring pass to Harmon with 31 seconds remaining in the game to cap a 16-play, 89-yard drive and tie the game at 14. Antwain Reine had a 3-yard TD run in overtime for Walsh (6-2, 4-1), but Art Zurcher missed the extra point, leaving the score at 20-14. Reine rushed for 121 yards on 28 carries, including a 2-yard TD run in the first quarter. Dustin Stewart scored on a 2-yard run in the second and finished with 16 carries for 90 yards.
Urbana 42, Malone 34
URBANA -- Ryan Gehlert threw three touchdown passes and Rob Orta ran for two scores in Urbana's win over Malone. Orta had 16 carries for 144 yards, including 13- and 29-yard TD runs. Barry Quinn also had four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown for Urbana (6-2, 3-1 Mid-States Mideast League). Brad Reifsnyder completed 25 of 40 passes for 380 yards and five touchdowns for Malone (2-5, 1-3), which led 26-16 at halftime. Gehlert threw a 9-yard TD pass to Purnell Sweeney and a 49-yard scoring pass to Barry Quinn to give Urbana a 29-26 lead with 6:01 left in the third. He found Andre Wiggins on a 16-yard scoring play later in the third to make it 42-26. Josh Settlemire caught eight passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns for Malone.
Grove City 7, Waynesburg 6
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Aaron Margo blocked a punt to set up the game-winning touchdown then intercepted a pass in the end zone to seal a victory as time expired. Grove City (3-5, 2-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference) opened the game by driving 50 yards on 11 plays only to have Brandon McCall miss a 31-yard field goal. Waynesburg (3-4, 1-3) took over on its own 20 and took a 6-0 lead when Ryan Abels scored on a 78-yard run three plays later. Steve Weary blocked Ben Popson's extra point try. Waynesburg's Tres Cobb managed just 48 yards passing out of 205 yards offense, while Bradford Clark passed for just 27 of Grove City's 223 yards.
Edinboro 24, Slippery Rock 7
EDINBORO, Pa. -- Edinboro defenders forced three interceptions and two fumbles, including one recovered in the end zone that broke open a close game as the Fighting Scots beat Slippery Rock. Despite the turnovers, Slippery Rock (3-5, 2-2 PSAC-West) trailed just 10-7 before Edinboro's Jim Soltis forced a fumble when he sacked Nate Crookshank in the end zone. Greg MacAnn recovered for the touchdown that made it 17-7 with 5:38 left in the game. Edinboro (6-2, 4-1) forced Slippery Rock to punt on its next possession, but A.J. Cousins blocked the kick and recovered the ball in the end zone for another touchdown and the final score of 24-7. Kody Robertson opened the scoring with a 32-yard field goal and Ryan Valasek scored on a 6-yard pass from Justin Bouch as Edinboro led 10-0 midway through the second quarter. Crookshank was held to just 161 yards passing on a 10-for-27 performance with three picks. But Crookshank did score Slippery Rock's only touchdown, on a 7-yard-run, to make the score 10-7 at halftime.
