O'Patchen paces Fitch past Twinsburg, 3-1
In Division II, Salem beat Mooney and Crestwood defeated Struthers.
STOW -- Caitlin O'Patchen scored 18 points and had eight kills as the Fitch High volleyball team rallied from one set down to defeat Twinsburg 20-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-20 in a Division I sectional final at Stow-Munroe Falls High School on Wednesday.
Meghan McDermott added 14 points, 10 kills and 11 digs for the Falcons (14-8), who will play Hudson in a district semifinal on Tuesday.
Hudson defeated Cuyahoga Falls 25-12, 25-18, 25-17.
Also for the Falcons, Rachel Ducay had 12 points, nine kills and three aces. Danielle Crum had nine points and six kills.
Salem 25-25-25,Cardinal Mooney 10-15-15
BOARDMAN -- Sarah Brobeck scored 17 points, with two aces and nine kills for Salem in a Division II sectional final at Boardman High School.
Katie Winn added 13 points and four aces for the Quakers (18-6), who will meet Crestwood in a district semifinal match at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Taylor Toothman had 33 assists and Brittany Gregory had 12 kills and two blocks.
Danielle Daltorio led Mooney (18-4) with six points and Sarah Pelini had five.
Crestwood 25-25-26,Struthers 9-17-24
BOARDMAN -- Dana Varga scored six points and had 14 assists for the Wildcats (8-16).
Taylor Benton added six points, with two aces. Kim Granchie had eight digs and Brianne Ciccone had 11 kills.
Crestwood (19-4) was paced by Melisa Baringer with 12 points, three aces, 16 kills and seven blocks. Erika Zigman had eight points and 10 assists.
Yo. Christian 16-25-26-22-15, Southern 25-21-24-25-8
LISBON -- Beverly Young scored 25 points, with seven aces as Youngstown Christian in a Division IV sectional game at Lisbon High School.
Danielle Pecchia added 18 points and 41 assists for the Eagles (3-6). Kara Pecchia had 47 assists and 11 blocks.
Laura VanDyne led the Indians (2-2) with 10 points, four aces and three blocks. Emily Ramsey had 10 kills.
Mineral Ridge 25-25-25, Badger 20-14-15
LISBON -- The Rams (12-9) swept past the Braves in three games as Heather Rinehart scored 17 points, with five aces. Alex Ladd added 24 assists and Courtney Skiba scored 13 points, with four aces.
Brittany Mauk led the Braves (2-17) eight points, three aces and three kills. Allison Burr scored seven points and Allyson Palmer had 18 assists.
Louisville 25-26-25,West Branch 11-24-16
CANTON -- Lindsay Hostetler had 11 kills and 12 digs to lead Louisville (18-5) in a Division II sectional final at Canton South High School.
Lauren Pshsniak had 11 points and eight kills, while Casey Benner had 35 digs for West Branch (13-11).
Liberty 26-22-27-25, West Geauga 24-25-25-23
JEFFERSON -- Megan Kay had 30 points and 20 kills, Chelsea O'Donnell had 20 points and 14 kills and Jessie Szackas had 14 points and 27 assists for Liberty in a Division II sectional match on Tuesday.
Jessie Knez added 15 points and 10 kills, Emily Hall had 19 assists and seven points and Katie Greaf had five points.
