YSU luncheon to honor Hartzell contributors

YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University will host a luncheon Wednesday to honor major contributors to the Michael T. Hartzell Scholarship.
Hartzell, 26, a Youngstown police officer, was ambushed and killed as he sat at a red light in his cruiser on West Federal Street in April 2003.
Hartzell's parents, Howard and Mary, will attend the luncheon in the Bresnahan Room of Kilcawley Center to present a check of $23,000 to the scholarship fund.
An annual golf outing was created to raise money for the scholarship.
Hartzell's killer, Martin Koliser Jr., was convicted and sentenced to death. He killed himself in prison in May.
