South Range superintendent to retire; replacement named



GREENFORD -- South Range Schools Superintendent James Hall is retiring.
The school board, at its monthly meeting Monday, accepted Hall's resignation, effective Aug. 1, and named high school principal Dennis Dunham as his replacement. The board didn't announce how much Dunham will earn as superintendent.
Hall has served as South Range superintendent since Aug. 1, 1986. Previously he served as superintendent at Lowellville School District, 1979 through 1984, and Lordstown School District, 1984 through 1986.
He began his career in education at John F. Kennedy High School in Warren in 1965. He has a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and a master's degree from Kent State University.
Dunham was named high school principal at South Range in 1996. He started his teaching career at Southern Local School District in 1981 and later served there as assistant principal of the high school and junior high school, 1991 to 1994; he was high school and junior high school principal from 1994 through 1996.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Heidelberg College and earned his master's degree in educational administration from the University of Dayton. He has also studied at Franciscan University if Stubenville.
