House expected to OK re-transfer of Liberty land

COLUMBUS -- The Ohio House of Representatives is expected to approve today a bill to re-transfer just under an acre of land from the state to Liberty Township so the township can use the land for economic development.
The measure would re-transfer 0.067-acres of land on West Gypsy Lane from the state to the township.
When the land was originally transferred to the township in the 1970s, it had deed restrictions, state officials said.
State officials are trying to reconvey the land to remove any deed restrictions so that Liberty Township has the flexibility if the occasion arises for economic development.
A House committee approved the bill recently. If approved, the bill would have to be approved in the Senate and signed into law by Republican Gov. Bob Taft.
