Another woman contends suspect raped her

The man was questioned in the deaths of two prostitutes.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A second woman has told police she was raped by a Taylor Township man.
Pennsylvania State Police filed charges of rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, attempted rape and involuntary sexual intercourse and simple assault against Michael Ray Tackett, 34, of 14th Street, West Pittsburg.
Tackett's preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Lawrence County Central Court.
Tackett was charged in September with raping a 31-year-old Ellwood City woman. She told police that she was sodomized by Tackett in a Waldo Street house in late April or early May. Those charges were bound for trial last month.
Second set of charges
According to the affidavit filed to support the second set of charges, a 34-year-old woman who had known Tackett for several years told police she accepted a ride from him in exchange for sexual favors in December 2003, but she refused when he wanted to perform sodomy.
Tackett told the woman she didn't have a choice and pushed her head down on the hood of his vehicle, court papers stated. He later relented when the woman started crying and telling him she had children at home. Police said Tackett drove her home and gave her $40.
The two met again a few weeks later, then almost weekly after that time, for sexual relations, according to the affidavit. The woman told police she did not believe the suspect would want to perform sodomy again.
During their last encounter, Tackett drove the woman to a wooded area off Pa. Route 168 where he threatened her with a gun before sodomizing her, police said.
According to the accuser's statement, the suspect told the woman "let this be a lesson to you" and "to stay off the streets."
Lawrence County District Attorney Matthew Mangino said Tackett was questioned in the deaths of two women found in the woods off Pa. Route 168, but is not a suspect in their deaths.
Mandy Sue McLaren and Tammie Mullins, who police have said were prostitutes, were found Aug. 31. Mullins had been dead about a month and McLaren about a week, police said.
