Bulger, the league's leading passer, has placed the Rams second in the league in offensive yards per game (384.8) and fourth in scoring average (25.6). They pose a significant test for a Colts defense that has allowed the fewest points in the NFL. Indianapolis is surrendering an average of 5.8 points per game. Led by defensive linemen Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney, the Colts have compiled a league-leading 20 sacks. Mathis is tied for the NFL lead with six and Freeney, who had an NFL-best 16 in 2004, has five.
