Babyaks observe 50th anniversary in California



XPOLAND -- Palm Springs Resort in California was the setting Sept. 24 for a celebration held to honor Mr. and Mrs. John C. Babyak, 7249 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were Mr. Babyak's brother and sister-in-law, George and Joyce Babyak, of Yucca, Calif., and their family.
The couple will also be feted at events being planned by their sons and their wives, Steven and Tammy Babyak of Mentor and Vincent and Krista Babyak of Largo, Fla. There are three grandchildren in the family.
The former JoAnn E. Wargo and Mr. Babyak were married Sept. 24, 1955, at Spangler, Pa. They are members of Holy Family Church and the Chosin Few.
Mrs. Babyak is an usher and eucharistic minister at the church and was self-employed with as a medical home-care aide to seniors prior to retiring.
Mr. Babyak served 24 years with the Marine Corps as a master gunnery sergeant. He retired in 1989 from Hydro Security in Warren, where he was a sprinkler fitter. He is a member of Washingtonville VFW, the Summer of '48 and the Marine Corps Association.
