Peace banquet to raise money for crisis center

YOUNGSTOWN -- The ninth annual Peace Award Recognition Banquet is set for 6 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave.
This year's event, sponsored by the Youngstown Mayor's Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention, has as its theme "Prevention is Getting Involved," and proceeds will benefit Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. Among the services the agency provides to residents in Mahoning and Columbiana counties are crisis intervention, suicide prevention, information, referral and victim advocacy.

Shannon Hunt of the Office of Victims' Assistance will be the keynote speaker, and various awards will be presented.
