J-M's Josh Rybak wins state title
Kennedy Catholic placed third in district and Ursuline 12th in state.
LOCKBOURNE -- Josh Rybak, a senior at Jackson-Milton High School, fired 37-38 -- 75 to capture individual honors at the Division III state golf tournament Friday at Foxfire Golf Club.
Lima Central Catholic captured team laurels with 311 points.
Ursuline High School finished 12th with 338 points in Division II. Cincinnati Wyoming won the team title with 311 points.
Kennedy Catholic third
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Kennedy Catholic High golf team shot 796 to finish in third place in the boys District 10 tournament at Greenville Country Club.
Cathedral Prep won the team crown with 770 points and Grove City was second with 792.
Dave Hutchinson of Kennedy Catholic fired 154 to tie for eighth place. Teammates Matt Rossi carded 157, Mike Klaric 159 and Dom Lombardi 161.
Soccer
SALEM -- Mark Hammond and Ian Jones each scored a goal and an assist, leading Howland High to a 4-0 victory over Salem in a Metro Athletic Conference boys soccer game.
Josh Keul and Sean Gerin added goals for the Tigers (11-5, 6-2 MAC) and Eric Albani had an assist. Goalie Dan Miller made three saves and Keul had one.
Justice Pash made 11 saves for Salem (11-2-1).
JVs: Howland, 8-0.
Maplewood 4, Geneva 1
MECCA -- Three freshman -- Michelle Sloan freshman, Kayleigh Hartman and Erica Pinko and sophomore Tori Spencer -- each scored one goal to lead the Maplewood girls team (10-3-3) to victory.
Emily Paris, also a freshman, contributed two assists while Spencer had one assist. Maplewood goalie Leah Dean seven saves.
Natalie Boyd scored Geneva's (6-8-2) goal and goalkeeper Moe Domonick made eight saves.
Volleyball
BELOIT -- Rachael Boyce scored 19 points had five kills for West Branch (12-10, 7-7), which lost, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23, to Canton South in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference match.
Lauren Pshsniak added 12 points, seven kills and four blocks and Casey Benner had 11 points and seven kills.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Danielle Daltorio had five aces, seven digs, nine kills and 20 points for Mooney.
Michelle Pelini added two aces, eight digs, eight kills and 13 points.
Kelly Donoghue had three aces, 15 assists and nine points, while Dayna Daltorio had seven digs, four kills and eight points.
For Warren JFK, Rosa Campana had three kills and three blocks, while Kelley Crowley added two aces and Morgan Piacquadio had 18 assists.
