"Field of Dreams," "The Natural" (8 and 10 p.m., AMC): October is one of the best times of the year for a baseball fan. So with the World Series fast approaching, why not break out the peanuts and Cracker Jack and settle in for a baseball movie doubleheader? Tonight presents just such an opportunity with back-to-back airings of Kevin Costner's diamond fantasy, "Field of Dreams," and Robert Redford's tale of hardball heroism, "The Natural."
"College Football" (3:30 p.m., NBC): "The Mighty Quinn" is on at 4 p.m. (WB syndication) but Notre Dame looks to have its own hero in quarterback Brady Quinn. Under the tutelage of new head coach Charlie Weis, Quinn has guided the Fighting Irish into the top 25 teams in the nation. Take a look at the struggle to repair levee breaches throughout the city before Hurricane Rita wrought new damage.
"Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (9 p.m., Starz): It doesn't take long for Bridget Jones' (Renee Zellweger) fairy-tale romance to hit the skids when she finds out that her new beau Mark (Colin Firth) has politically conservative leanings. Throw in a new boss, a problematic contractor and the return of an old flame, and there's good reason for Ms. Jones to be on edge.
