Tracie Thomas McBain (track/cross country): From the class of 1988, McBain was a three-time state qualifier, earning all-state honors as a sophomore. She was three-time All-SVC and three-time county champion. As a freshman, she helped the 3200-meter relay to school and county meet records, and she set a school record in the 800 as a sophomore. She anchored the 3200 relay to a fifth-place finish at the state meet as a sophomore and was seventh in the 1600 as a junior.
Gene Pushic (contributor): The third-winningest football coach in school history, he was with the Spartans from 1975-83 after two seasons as an assistant, guiding the prep career of Bernie Kosar. Also coached St. John High in Ashtabula to a 30-10-3 record. Later served as an administrator with the Boardman Schools.
Tom Filip (contributor): Directed the Boardman Flippers basketball program and several other youth programs in the area for many years. Under his guidance, the Flippers won 16 tournament championships.
Jody (Fulks) Siogren (gymnastics): From the class of 1973, Siogren lettered four years and advanced to the state meet three times. As a junior, she finished four on the balance beam and seventh in floor exercise. As a senior, she was again fourth on the beam.
Patty (Thompson) Adsit (tennis): Class of 1978, Adsit earned two letters as a member of the boys tennis team at Boardman, playing doubles. As a junior, she won the girls Northeastern Ohio sectional singles title and the district title, qualifying for the state tournament. As a senior, she was All-SVC and All-Tri-County first team.
Sandy (Nitch) Queen (soccer): Class of 1990, Queen is the only Boardman female athlete to earn all-state honors in soccer. She was first team All-SVC three times, first team All-Akron League as a senior, and three-time team captain and MCP. She was also first team All-SVC in softball twice and was named team captain and MVP as a senior.
David Garcher (soccer): Class of 1990, Garcher was a four-year letterman. He earned All-Greater Akron League honors three times and was team co-captain. He set a single season scoring record of 46 goals as a senior, making All-Central States, All-Ohio and All-SVC. His four-year total of 120 goals is a school record.
