Man with warrants arrested on East Side
YOUNGSTOWN -- Charles Tensley Jr., who is wanted on several warrants and was accused of driving a car stolen during a burglary, was arrested on the East Side.
Tensley, 21, of Magnolia Avenue, was first spotted Wednesday by members of the Street Crimes Unit in a stolen black Chevrolet Malibu on Victor Street. Officers found him later that day in a house on Cassius Street.
He told police the car had been given to him "by some white girl."
A temporary tag on the Chevrolet was registered to a Chrysler, Tensley's temporary driving permit was suspended, and a small bag of crack cocaine was found in the console, police said.
Tensley was arrested on charges of driving under suspension, fictitious plates, receiving stolen property and possession of drugs. He was served with warrants issued this month that charge robbery, attempted burglary (failure to appear), illegal possession of a weapon (failure to appear) and carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (all failure to appear).
At arraignment Thursday in municipal court, bond was set at $340,000. If Tensley posts bond, he must be placed on electronically monitored house arrest.
He is scheduled to be back in court Oct. 21 for a preliminary hearing.
