Local cancer socity units elect officers, director board members
The American Cancer Society's Mahoning and Trumbull units elected officers and new board of director members for the 2005-2006 fiscal year, which runs Sept. 1, 2005 to Aug. 31, 2006.
Trumbull Unit officers include:
Jay Bice, president; Mark Massucci, vice president; Debbie DiVincenzo, secretary/treasurer; and Robert Antenucci, past president.
Tom Logan and Ron Scirocco are new members of the Trumbull County Board of Directors. Logan is the co-chairman of the 2006 Warren Relay For Life, and Scirocco is a member of the board of directors for the Liberty Relay For Life. Logan resides in Howland and is employed at The Home Depot in Niles. Scirocco lives in Girard and works at Harrington, Hoppe & amp; Mitchell in Youngstown.
Mahoning County officers include:
Deborah Dashko, R.N., president; Atty. Anne Crawford, vice president; Corlis Green, second vice president; Amy Noll, secretary; Philip Kocon, financial compliance officer; and Dr. Robert DeMarco, past president.
All of the officers and directors are volunteers who help implement fund-raising activities and health initiative programs. They also make decisions and direct the organization on other issues relevant to reducing cancer, said Al Stabilito, ACS' Eastern Ohio public relations director.
They not only volunteer their services and time, but they organize and help plan activities during the year. In addition, they direct the organization on cancer-related issues in Mahoning County relevant to the mission of reducing cancer incidence and cancer deaths, Stabilito said.
