XBOARDMAN -- Laura Wem, a daughter of Larry and Cindi Wem, 1767 state Route 9, Salem, and John Reiss III, a son of John and Kimberli Reiss, 9991 Woodworth Road, North Lima, were united in marriage during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony Sept. 10 at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park.
The Rev. Cindy Cierlli presided at the ceremony, and a reception was held in honor of the couple at the Regency House, Austintown.
The newlyweds left for Put-in-Bay and will travel to New Orleans, La., and Jacksonville, Fla., in December.
They live at 1350 Weathervane Lane, Akron.
The bride's ivory and champagne strapless A-line gown featured a corset back and a chapel train.
Shanna Cross, the honor attendant, wore a black gown, as did the bridesmaids, Emily Shurtleff, Cara Carroll and Jaime Smith.
Nate Sensabaugh and Alvin Carroll served as best men, and groomsmen were the bride's brother, Larry Wem, and the groom's brother, Justin Reiss. The usher was Tim Vernoek.
The bride, who will use the name Laura Wem-Reiss, graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration-accounting from Kent State University, where she is pursuing a master's in finance. She is a staff accountant with JoAnn Stores Inc. in Hudson.
The groom is in sales with Best Buy in Macedonia and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in English at KSU.
