Girl, 14, hospitalized after being hit by SUV

SANDY LAKE, Pa. -- A 14-year-old girl was hit by an SUV when she walked into its path on U.S. Route 62 near here about 8 p.m. Thursday.
Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer said a Sandy Lake woman, who has not been charged, was driving the SUV.
Police did not release girl's name. She was conscious and talking after the accident, they said. She was taken by helicopter to St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Youngstown.
