Two are injured in shooting on city's West Side

YOUNGSTOWN -- Antwan Boudrey Sr. told police he returned fire when shot at by one of two men in ski masks who entered his West Side house.
Boudrey, 24, of 24 N. Evanston Ave., was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center on Tuesday night for a gunshot wound to his buttocks. His girlfriend, Sarenda Whitted, 18, same address, was shot in the hip. She was in stable condition Wednesday.
A large number of casings was found inside the living and dining rooms at the house and leading up the driveway. Bullet holes were found in the walls. Police said the suspect's gunfire was returned, judging by the location of various casings.
Both victims were given a gunshot residue test at the hospital, police said.
A witness told police he heard gunfire and saw two men in ski masks running from the house. Neighbors saw two men get into a newer-model Chrysler and drive off.
When interviewed at the hospital, Whitted told police two masked men approached her in the front yard and ordered her into the house. She yelled to her boyfriend that she was being robbed.
Whitted said she was pushed to the ground and then ran into the house to get her 2-year-old child. She told police she was shot when she dove for her child on the floor.
Boudrey told police he ran to the kitchen to get his 9 mm handgun when he heard gunfire. He said he returned fire when one of the suspects shot at him. He doesn't know if the second suspect had a gun.
