XHUBBARD -- The marriage of Elyssa Jennifer Calkin and Brian Joseph Gaps was solemnized by the Rev. Timothy O'Neill during a 2 p.m. ceremony Sept. 3 at St. Patrick Church.
The bride is a daughter of Alan and Ilene Calkin, 1077 County Road 164, Callicoon, N.Y., and the groom's parents are Robert and Pamela Gaps, 813 Saul Drive.
After a reception at the church, the couple left on a Caribbean cruise.
They live at 306 White House Lane, Boardman.
The bride's strapless spun-gold gown was embellished with beading on the bodice and hemline. She completed her ensemble with a matching wrap.
Wearing navy-blue gowns were the bride's sister and honor attendant, Erin Calkin, and the bridesmaids, Carrie Haynes and the bride's cousins, Nicole Lafleur and Sara Lafleur. Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Taylor Allen.
Robert Gaps performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Ted Kester, Mike Hiet and the bride's brother, Jason Calkin. Ring bearer was the groom's cousin, Alex Tackett, and usher was Joe Moranto.
The bride, a technical-support agent with Softek Software International Inc. in Youngstown, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in information technology.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in computer information systems at YSU and is a help-desk agent with St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
