CANFIELD
Oct. 1
Vandalism: A resident in a home in the 200 block of Sleepy Hollow Drive said he heard two gunshots, possibly pellet-gun shots, coming from a tan Cadillac driving by his home and noticed damage to a a ceramic pumpkin in his front yard.
Oct. 3
Shoplifting: An undetermined amount was stolen from CVS, 601 E. Main St. A woman pulling into the parking lot saw two men leave the store running with a red CVS basket containing several items she said were possibly videotapes. The two men, in their early 40s, fled in a red Ford pickup truck.
Theft: A theft was reported at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., after a red shopping cart was found outside the back door of the CVS Pharmacy with empty boxes of various cold and allergy medicines.
Oct. 4
Theft: A woman from an apartment building in the 100 block of Talsman Drive said she found her purse on the floor of her car with $30 missing.
Oct. 5
Criminal mischief: Small cuts were found in a kitchen door screen and in the living-room screen at a home in the 50 block Talsman Drive.
Counterfeit money: A man cashed a check at Giant Eagle for $50 and then tried to deposit the cash into the bank, where a bank employee discovered it was a counterfeit bill.
Theft: A customer at Farmers National Bank, 208 S. Broad St., reported that an ATM transaction of $219 to pay Alltel was taken from his checking account.
Unauthorized use of car: A woman from Villager Apartments, 440 Fairground Blvd., reported a person didn't return her car within the agreed-upon time.
Oct. 6
Breaking and entering: The owner of A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., said the store had been broken into.
Oct. 8
Assault: Police said they arrested a 49-year-old Canfield man and charged with two counts of assault after he started a fight with a 30-year-old Canfield man and a 23-year-old Youngstown man at the home of the Canfield victim.
Oct. 9
Missing property: A resident in the 50 block of Edwards Avenue reported a cell phone was missing from his belt clip.
Property damage: Damage was done to a self-wash bay at Superior Car Wash, 44 Cardinal Drive. The roof flashing above the bay was damaged. The police believe a truck caused the damage.

Oct. 3
Breaking and entering: A drywall scaffold was taken from an apartment in the 100 block of Westchester Drive.
Theft: Police issued a summons for the arrest of a man on charges of stealing two quarts of motor oil from Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave., and for trespassing.
Theft: Structural beams were stolen from a home in the 800 block of Ohltown Road.
Forgery: Police accused an unidentified man of forgery at the office of Dr. Necklall Khooblall, 258 S. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: A brown purse was reported stolen at Austinwoods Nursing Home, 4780 Kirk Road.
Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons for the arrest of a man for disorderly conduct at General Insurance, 4451 Mahoning Ave.
Drug Offense: Police issued a summons for a Youngstown man on a charge of drug abuse involving suspected marijuana at Elmwood Avenue at South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Theft: Two a sets of vehicle keys and miscellaneous change were stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 3000 block of Ascot Lane.
Theft: Two steel grates were taken from the road on North Four Mile Run Road.
Breaking and entering: Two furnaces were taken from a home in the 1000 block of Mulberrry Run.
Theft: Miscellaneous coins were taken from a vehicle parked at a home in the 400 block of Westgate Boulevard.
Theft: A stereo, an AM satellite radio and a radar detector were taken from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Westgate Boulevard.
Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 5000 block of New Road.
Arrest: Police arrested three men on Turner Road and charged them with stealing trees from Connolly's Garden Center, 6513 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A debit card was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Moorefield Avenue.
Theft: A stereo and amplifier were taken from an auto parked at a home in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane.
Theft: A watch was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at a home in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.
Abandoned vehicle: Police found a A 1984 Ford truck at Deals, 6007 Mahoning Ave.

Attempted theft: Someone attempted to gain entry to a video drop-off box at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Burglary: Police charged a man with the burglary of a home in the 20 block of North Wickliffe Circle.

Theft: A debit card was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of East Radio Road.
Theft: A 19-inch television was stolen from Westgate Motel, 4493 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A Visa credit card was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Birchtrace.
Theft: An Apple iPod was taken from a vehicle parked at a residence in the 5000 block of Callaway Circle.
Criminal trespass: Police issued a summons for a man on a charge of criminal trespass at an apartment in the Compass West Apartments.
Theft: License plates were taken from a vehicle on Notre Dame Drive.
Criminal damage: A woman is a suspect in using a key to scratch the exterior of a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 2000 block of Elmtrace.

Theft: A cast-iron catch basin was stolen from the 200 block of Victoria Road.
Auto theft: A 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen from Cosmos, 1722 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Patrons walked out of the Perkins Restaurant, 5550 Interstate Blvd., without paying the bill.
Theft: A children's battery-powered jeep was stolen from a residence in the 4000 block of Pembrook Place.
Criminal mischief: The drive-through order screen at McDonald's, 1709 S. Raccoon Road was spray-painted.
Theft: Halloween decorations were stolen from the 200 block of Rosemont Avenue.
Theft: A wallet was stolen from a patron at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant, 5600 Interstate Blvd.
Auto theft: A red Ford Escort was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
Theft: Halloween decorations were stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Yolanda Place.
Oct. 9
Burglary: Several items were taken from a home in the 100 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard. There was no sign of forced entry.
Drug offense: Police took a Youngstown man to Mahoning County jail after they charged him with drug abuse. They arrested him in the Compass West apartment complex.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A 2002 Dodge Neon was used without authorization at Infocision, Interstate Boulevard.
Theft: Police charged a man with snatching a purse at the IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave. Witnesses chased the suspect after the crime, and police found him in a room at Westgate Manor Motel, 4493 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: Brake lines were cut on a vehicle in the residential 500 block of South Raccoon Road.
Theft: Tail lights were stolen from a trailer at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
Breaking and entering: Golf clubs with a bag, a toolbox and tools were stolen after a storage shed was broken into at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.
