BOARDMAN Two arrested in string of burglaries

The two men admitted entering about 20 vehicles, police said.
BOARDMAN -- Police have arrested two men accused in a string of burglaries in the township's northwest section late last month.
Brian J. Precurato, 18, of Bob-O-Link Drive, was charged with four counts of complicity to burglary, all felonies, and misdemeanor theft.
Robert A. Cox, 18, of Indianola Road, was charged with four counts of burglary, all felonies.
The burglaries for which the two are charged occurred Sept. 28 and 29.
When he was arrested on the warrants Saturday, Cox was already in the Mahoning County Justice Center on a charge of burglary last month of a house on Stratford Road and other burglaries committed in Canfield and outlying areas of Mahoning County, police said.
He and a juvenile had been arrested the previous week for the Stratford Road burglary.
What was reported
Residents of Traymore Court, Baymar Drive and Bob-O-Link reported that someone got into their cars, garages and houses, most of which were unlocked.
In some of the cases, items were taken, but in another, the owner said someone went through items in her car but didn't take anything.
A resident of Traymore told police that someone got into his unlocked, attached garage and took cash from one car and cigarettes from another vehicle.
At the time, police got a call about a man wearing black and walking through the back yards of Baymar with a flashlight. Police searched the area but didn't find anyone.
Police said that both Cox and Precurato admitted entering about 20 vehicles.
Later this month, the police department plans to open a substation at 5000 Market St. in the northern part of the township. The northern section has seen an increase in crimes including burglaries and car break-ins over the last few years.
The substation will be staffed with patrol officers, traffic officers, a detective assigned to auto theft, a detective assigned to burglaries and other personnel.
