Benedetto 50th is celebrated at Mass, dinner



XBOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Rocco M. Benedetto, 760 Brookfield Ave., marked their 50th wedding anniversary by attending Mass Sept. 17 at St. Charles Church, where they are members.
Later that day they were joined by family members and friends for a dinner at Cafe Capri. Hosts were Mrs. Benedetto's brothers and her sister-in-law, Paul Antonelli of North Lima and Thomas E. and Kathy Antonelli of Dayton.
The couple will continue the celebration by traveling to Texas this month to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lisa and Ali Hami of San Antonio, and their two grandchildren, who were unable to attend the dinner.
The former Rose M. Antonelli and Mr. Benedetto were married Sept. 17, 1955, at St. Edward Church, Youngstown.
Mrs. Benedetto was a secretary 12 years for Henderson Chevrolet, four years with National Cash Register and 25 years with Gem-Young Insurance prior to retiring in 1991. She is a member of the Resurrection Choir and the Ladies Guild at the church.
Mr. Benedetto was a member of the 397 Squadron, 14th Air Force, and flew with the Flying Tigers during World War II. He was employed by Republic Rubber Corp., Boardman Steel and Impart Auto, and retired in 1999.
