JACKSON TOWNSHIP Trustees open bids for addition on administration, police building

NORTH JACKSON -- Jackson Township trustees opened bids for an addition on the township administration and police building on Mahoning Avenue.
The bids were opened in four categories at 4 p.m. Friday at the township fire station.
Of 10 general contractors bidding, the apparent low bidder is Augere Construction of Hudson, Ohio, at $499,950.
Of nine plumbing contractors, the apparent low bidder is Charniga Plumbing of Poland at $46,120.
For electrical work, S.M. Electrical Co. Inc. of Austintown is the apparent low bidder out of 10 competing, at $61,570.
For heating, AA Samuels Sheet Metal Co. Inc. of Youngstown bid $44,400, apparent low bidder of 10.
Township officials and the project architect said the lowest bid will not be officially announced until the bids are reviewed, probably Wednesday, with contract awards possibly on Thursday.
The addition, estimated to cost $684,000, will house offices for the township clerk, zoning, and cemetery and road departments. There will be a foyer to an attached hall and meeting room, township officials have said.
