Homecoming activities to include concerts and charitable donations



A free will offering will be collected to aid Hurricane Katrina victims.
CANTON -- A hurricane relief concert will be one of the highlights of homecoming 2005 at Malone College.
The concert, featuring The Lester Finn Experiment (formerly Candle Rain) is open to the public and will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Osborne Hall. A free will offering will be collected to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Other homecoming events include:
UMark Engel, 1978 Malone graduate and senior pastor of Canton First Friends Church, will speak at homecoming chapel services 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church.
UThe annual Gigana-hugana-banana split eating contest will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the outdoor basketball court adjacent to Randall Campus Center.
U"Celebration," a student-initiated time of praise and worship, will be at 9 p.m. Thursday in the Hoover Dining Commons.
UThe Malone College Chorale and the Women's Concert Choir will feature alumni and current students in a performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Christ Presbyterian Church.
UChristian recording artists Audio Adrenaline, Pillar, Superchic(k), Sanctus Real and Kids in the Way will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Canton Civic Center. Ticket information is available at www.rushconcerts.com.
UThe Malone Pioneer football team will meet Ohio Dominion University at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fawcett Stadium.
UA concert of sacred music featuring Malone College music alumni is set for 3 p.m. Sunday in the Stewart Room of Randall Campus Center.
