Friends of the Public Library to form mystery group

POLAND -- Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County are launching a new group, modeled after popular television mystery shows.
The group, CSI-Y'town, will meet one evening a month and feature a variety of speakers from the law enforcement and forensic fields, plus reviews of new mystery novels.
The group's first meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Friends Bookstore on the lower level of Poland Branch Library.
The general public is invited, in addition to readers, writers and fans of murder mysteries, whodunits, hard-boiled detective fiction, historical mysteries, psychological suspense, police procedures, amateur sleuths, supernatural thrillers, crime capers or other mystery genres.
After a local group is formed, participants will be eligible to join the national Sisters in Crime organization.
Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County support countywide library services like the Summer Reading Club.
