Colorful makeup for fall is just for fun
THE BALTIMORE SUN
It's true; black is the new black again, but that is for clothes and clothes only.
For your face, makeup has taken a decidedly more colorful turn this season, with the trendiest shades moving from safe choices (such as taupes and pinks) to bold greens and funky purples.
It might sound psychedelic, but the look is really pretty, particularly when done right. (Read: No Mimi from "The Drew Carey Show"). It also tells the world you're not afraid to play with your makeup or take yourself less than seriously.
After all, in a world where things are so serious, at least your makeup should be fun.
Get a purple party-time look from M.A.C. by blending frost shadows in shades of "Say Yeah!" "Banshee," "Anti-establishment," "Little Minx" and "Vellum." Available at many department stores.
Or try ever-pretty evergreen shades from i.d. bareMinerals. Electric shadow in "mambo" is great for a night out, and the shimmery "celery," is so subtle, it can be worn even at work. If you're really an envelope-pusher, try the i.d. Bare Escentuals Magic Wand Brushless Mascara (it takes some time getting used to) in green. Green eyelashes? Shocking!
