Chaney defeats Triway; West Branch wins late



Southeast triumphed over Coventry 47-6 in Akron.
WOOSTER -- Kory Jackson and Antwan Rice hooked up for two touchdown passes as the Chaney High football team defeated Wooster Triway 21-14 on Friday.
Rice hit on 5-of-13 passes for 115 yards including the two scoring strikes to Jackson that covered 67 and 19 yards.
Chaney (4-2) led 15-14 at the break then got a third-quarter touchdown run of 3 yards from Sir Franklin.
Franklin rushed 11 times for 73 yards, and Jackson caught three balls for 94 yards.
For the Titans (2-5), Damien Wyatt ran 15 times for 104 yards and a 1-yard touchdown.
West Branch 17,Alliance 14
ALLIANCE -- Shane Young kicked a 33-yard field goal with 1 minute, 38 seconds to lead the Warriors (4-3) to victory in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.
Eric Balputnis rushed for 125 yards on 21 carries, which included a 17-yard TD run in the first quarter for West Branch.
Alliance (4-3), behind 14-0 at halftime, tied the score in the fourth quarter as Chris Bivins scored on a 1-yard run and Troy Pascley caught a 43-yard TD pass from Charles Babb.
Mathews 35,Cleveland CC 16
VIENNA -- Nick Ocheltree rushed 13 times for 122 yards and scored three times on runs of 1, 56 and 5 yards to pace the Mustangs (4-3, 3-1) in the East Suburban Conference game.
Ocheltree also caught a pass from Lucas Buckner for 32 yards. Brad Hughes gained 110 yards on 14 carries, which included a TD run of 30 yards.
Southeast 47, Coventry 6
AKRON -- Kurt Oboczky scored two touchdowns on runs of 16 and 2 yards, while Joe Knopick also scored on a 1-yard plunge and booted a 27-yard field goal and four extra points, to pace Southeast.
Knopick completed 7-of-12 passes for 123 yards and also rushed for a game-high 104 yards in 13 carries, to power Southeast.
