All Saints Community Church welcomes its second pastor
CORTLAND -- The Rev. Jamie G. Kaufman of Warren was installed as the second pastor of All Saints Community Church during worship celebration in August.
The Rev. Mr. Kaufman, a native of Sandusky, fills the post created when the church's founding pastor, the Rev. Tom Begert-Clark, retired Dec. 31, 2004. He was the church's leader since its founding Nov. 6, 1994.
Mr. Kaufman earned a bachelor's degree in theology from Texas Lutheran University in 1982 and a master of divinity degree in 1986 from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus.
Having served in various pastoral capacities, including senior pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Mr. Kaufman left the denomination to be an independent pastor in January 2000. Since then, he has been the founding pastor of two congregations in the Toledo area.
Mr. Kaufman also was an instructor in cultural diversity and world religions at Owens Community College, Toledo, for nine years. He is the author of two books, "Engaging In Social Deviance As An Act of Christian Love" and "My Lord And My God." A third, "The Precepts of Humans," will be published next year.
All Saints Community Church, a nondenominational affirming Christian fellowship, is at 4530 state Route 46. Worship is at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Visit www.allsaintsonline.org.
