Turning out for a unified gathering
Participants at the sixth annual candlelight vigil for Mental Illness Awareness gather outside Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church in Youngstown to sing and light candles. The National Alliance for Mental Illness sponsored the services and vigil Thursday night. At left, Dianna R. Mason, vice president of NAMI's Mahoning Valley group, passes out flowers that participants placed in a vase to honor their loved ones. The event also included the singing of hymns and the reading of Scriptures. The Rev. Jim Henkel, pastor of the North Benton Presbyterian Church, served as worship leader.
