Girard beats LaBrae in Trumbull matchup

Lakeview rolled past Champion in another TAC contest.
GIRARD -- Chelsea Morrison had 10 points, 15 kills, four aces and four blocks to lead the Girard High volleyball team past LaBrae 25-19, 25-14, 12-25, 25-21 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference match Thursday.
Courtney Madden added 12 kills, six blocks and seven digs for Girard (15-5, 10-2), while Hillary Patterson had eight points, two aces and 10 digs. JVs: Girard 25-7, 25-13.

CORTLAND -- Senior outside hitter Lindsay Whetzel had 14 points, six digs and a block, senior middle hitter Lauren McCumber had eight kills and five aces and sophomore middle hitter Emily Malmisur had eight kills and a block for Lakeview (17-3, 10-2 TAC).
Chentel Greathouse had seven assists and four kills, while Erica Armintrout had six digs for Champion (0-15, 0-12).

Brookfield 25-25-17-25,Newton Falls 15-21-25-20
BROOKFIELD -- Courtney Christy had 14 digs, five kills and seven points, while Morgan Bonekovic had 16 kills, 11 points, six digs and three aces for Brookfield. Andrea Gladis had 10 kills and four points and Taralee Williams had 38 assists.
For Newton Falls, Sasha McGregor had dight kills, Kelsey McGregor had nine points and seven kills and Brandi Lance had 13 assists.
Lisbon 25-16-25-26, East Palestine 12-25-22-24
EAST PALESTINE -- Jenn Yokley scored 22 points, with nine kills and 10 digs for the Bulldogs (8-10, 4-8 Tri-County League).
Logan Guy had 11 points and 32 assists. Renee Torrence added 16 points, 16 digs and nine kills.

VIENNA -- Junior middle hitter Sophia Paddock had 12 points, four aces, four digs, three blocks and nine kills, senior outside hitter Jordan Hardval had 13 digs, seven kills and five points and junior outside hitter Karen Pilati had 15 points, four kills, three aces and three digs for Mathews (14-1, 11-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference).
Sophomore server Meagan Gibson had 14 points, 12 blocks, six assists and one ace, junior setter Alicia Miller had six assists, sophomore Amanda Wickline had eight digs and senior Ashley Keller had five kills for Lordstown (11-6, 8-4).
West Branch 27-25-25, Carrollton 25-23-16
BELOIT -- Casey Benner scored 20 points had seven kills and four digs to spark the Warriors (12-8, 7-5) in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference match.
Rachael Boyce added 17 points and six kills and Lauren Pshsniak had 14 points and five kills.
JVs: West Branch 25-6, 25-19.
Late Wednesday
LIBERTY -- Chelsea O'Donnell had 14 kills to lead Liberty past Champion 25-14, 25-13, 25-18 on Wednesday. Megan Kay had 13 kills and 21 points and Emily Hall had 16 assists for the Leopards (8-7, 5-6). Haley York had nine blocks and four kills and Chentel Greathouse had 10 assists for Champion.
