The victim, 54, of North Hazlewood Avenue, told police he heard a loud knock on his back door. When he answered, a man put a .38-caliber revolver to his head, a police report shows. The gunman took $300, the report says. The man also went to the victim's kitchen and took a bottle of pills.
Shortly afterward, an acquaintance walked in through the back door and the gunman fled. He was last seen near the parking lot of Youngstown Plumbing & amp; Hardware Inc. on Mahoning Avenue.
The intruder was described as white, 5 feet 7 inches and 160 pounds, in his mid-50s, wearing a dark baseball cap and white T-shirt.
