Drug charges ensue after delivery of pot
WEATHERSFIELD -- A 22-year-old woman faces drug charges filed after five pounds of marijuana were sent to her home.
Jessica Mannor, 22, of 2659 Robbins Ave., will appear at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12 before Niles Municipal Judge Thomas W. Townley on a charge of complicity to trafficking in drugs. She is free on $15,000 bond set Monday.
Township Police Chief Joseph Consiglio said Niles police received a tip from Phoenix, Ariz., police that the marijuana would be delivered to Mannor's house by UPS.
Consiglio said that the Niles and Weathersfield police used a drug-sniffing dog to intercept the package at the UPS facility in Girard. Police then delivered it to Mannor last Friday and arrested her.
