Ursuline rolls past JFK

WARREN -- Janie Williams had seven aces and Myesha Mendenhall had eight assists as Ursuline High defeated Warren JFK in a Steel Valley Conference volleyball match Monday. The Irish (8-7, 3-4 SVC) won 25-16, 25-16, 25-14. Cynthia Ackpadock added four kills for Ursuline. JVs: Ursuline 25-22, 25-11.

HOWLAND -- Tara Rose led the Tigers with four points, two aces and five kills while Taylor Summerfield had six points, four kills and 11 assists. Brandi Snavely led the Clippers with four points, 21 assists and five blocks.

HOWLAND -- Jacki Hatherill collected seven kills and nine blocks to lead the Clippers (8-6). Snavely tacked on 23 assists, nine blocks and 10 saves. Allison Chepke was in with 16 points, an ace and eight kills for Jackson-Milton.

HOWLAND -- Summerfield led the Tigers (14-3) with 12 kills, nine assists and a block while Brittany Kelly had 23 assists and five digs. Chepke led Jackson-Milton (6-6) with 10 points, 10 kills and 15 digs.
LaBrae 25-25-25,Maplewood 19-15-15
MECCA -- Stephanie Higgins recorded six aces and scored 12 points to lead LaBrae (11-7) past Maplewood. Maddie D'Orio added four blocks and 17 kills for the Vikings, while Lindsey Higgins added 26 assists. Maplewood fell to 8-4.
Lordstown 25-25-25,Badger 19-11-18
LORDSTOWN -- Alisha Miller scored 17 points with eight aces as Lordstown toppled Badger. Ashley Kellar added 14 points for the Red Devils (10-5, 7-3 Northeastern Athletic Conference), while Megan Gibson had nine kills, six blocks and five digs. Badger (1-11, 1-8) was led by Katie Ullrich with 10 points and five aces, while Allison Burr had five kills.
Crestview 25-25, St. Thomas 6-15
COLUMBIANA -- Tricia Richards had 12 kills, while Rachell Storm added eight digs as Crestview beat St. Thomas. Elyse Mongillo added 20 assists for the Rebels.

COLUMBIANA -- Crestview ran its season record to 18-0 cruising past South Range in two games. Tricia Richards had nine kills and five points, while Julia Roberts added seven kills, while Michelle Parks contributed eight points for the Rebels. Tara Chizmar had six kills and Megan Sosnowski 10 assists for South Range (8-7).
St. Thomas 25-24,South Range 22-23
COLUMBIANA -- Carly Pavlick led the way with eight kills and five blocks as St. Thomas (10-1) stopped South Range. Tara Chizmar had seven kills for the Raiders (8-8).

LEETONIA -- Sam Miller had six points, three aces and eight assists for Leetonia (2-11), while Emily Goerig had 12 digs, Jess Fiehler had four kills and Sarah Weikart had four blocks.

NEWTON FALLS -- Heather Ludwick collected 15 points, seven aces and 14 assists while Marysa Burchett had nine kills for the Panthers (9-4). Leading the Tigers (2-11) was Kelsey McGregor with three kills. Brandi Lance had four assists.
