Police say suspect caused risk to others

YOUNGSTOWN -- In fleeing police at high speed, Larry A. McHellon, 19, of West Chalmers Avenue created substantial risk to others, reports show.
McHellon, traveling in a stolen Buick Sunday afternoon, drove over the curb and sidewalk and through a yard on Rush Boulevard, police said. He then went through a red light as he turned onto Indianola Avenue and almost hit several cars, reports show.
Police said McHellon abandoned the car near a wooded area and ran. He was caught on Willis Street.
At arraignment Monday in municipal court, bond was set at $132,500 on charges of receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding and driving under suspension.
If released from jail he must be placed on electronically monitored house arrest.
