OHIO LOTTERY Cortland man wins $28,800 on 'Cash Explosion' show

COLUMBUS -- Tony Placanica of Cortland won $3,800 plus $25,000 cash bonus during the "Cash Explosion" TV show Saturday.
He plans to use the money to take his family on a trip to Italy.
Bill Wheeler of Malta, Ohio, won $7,800 and plans a trip to the Grand Canyon.
"Cash Explosion" features eight contestants who select various squares on a game board to reveal cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $3,200. The game board includes two "double" squares, which apply to the next amount selected, and one $25,000 "bonus" square.
Two semifinal games are played, and the contestant with the highest dollar amount at the end of each game advances to the championship game.
"Cash Explosion" contestants are selected every two weeks in a drawing administered by the Ohio Lottery and observed by the State Auditor's office. Each game show entry ticket and "Play-at-Home" ticket selected is validated, and the individual is contacted by the Ohio Lottery.
